Tron Legacy: WTF?

A man releasing a disc upwards into the air, embraced by a woman

Recognize this?

Last month, all geeks were incredibly happy. Why? Tron lah! TRON LEGACY! The epic sequel to the awesome 1982 movie that is Tron.

Yes, yes, trivialities out of the way, the movie is about this dude, Sam Flynn.

Apparently, he's daddy's little boy, all grown up. Btw, did I mention that his daddy is Kevin Flynn? A godlike Figure in the Grid? Protagonist of Tron?

Half-length portrait of younger man with shoulder-length hair and beard, with right hand raised over what appears to be a red flame. The upper background is gold. Around his head is a golden halo containing an equal-armed cross with three arms visible; the arms are decorated with ovals and squares.

Guess which dude he is? No, not the dude on the left, that's Jesus by the way, a totally more awesome dude. But yes, Kevin Flynn plays the role of Christ just as well.

Most people already seen the movie, so SPOILER ALERT!

OK, Sam enters The Grid, namely this place.

For Kingdom Hearts Players, hey, I knew you were there! Well, The Grid "vaguely" resembles the KH world of "The World That Never Was". Recognize the Tower? It's the Memory Skyscraper, copied bit by bit...... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANYWAYS, Back to Tron Legacy.

The ONLY best thing about the movie is this. Quorra.
Yes, Quorra.
Ok, stop. Quorra is a Kick-ass Program from The Grid. Played by Olivia Wilde.

Ok, fanboys, stop drooling.

Well, in the end of the movie, Sam brings Quorra to our world. Wow, a romance story, love, all that Jazz. But let us consider the facts of Quorra.

  1. She's a program, who has never seen the Real World before.
  2. She has no ID, no passport, no money. Ok, so she's in love with a multibillionaire, but HEY! NO ID?!
  3. She doesn't know how to use a bloody computer.
  4. Did I mention she's an ISO?
Another Bloody amazing fact is The Grid. According to the movie, The Grid was made in 1989. Full stop. 1989. And then research discontinued because Kevin "Jesus" Flynn was sucked into the world. OK.....a quick wikipedia search.

Okay. Alotta technical stuff. But look at the RAM. 1MB MIN, 32MB MAX.

So, the computers available at the time had only 1/2000 of my current LAPTOP's Ram. Wow. And he could still create The Grid. Amazing.

What's more, The Grid can be saved into a memory card. Wow. That must make it less than 16GB. Than again, did we forget that the Mac SE/30 had only80MB of internal mem at maximum?

WOWEE! I admit, he could've used a supercomputer. But then....how did he afford it? See? I just poked a hole in the logic.

Anyways, A great film, deserves all the credit for Tron! YAY! One last pic for all you peoples

There. I'm DONE! GO TRON!

Halo: Reach

Recently bought meself one of these.

250 GB slim model and new-style controller
For those non-gamers out there, that's an Xbox. 360. According to a hardcore gamer, this is "The Most Advanced Gaming Machine Out In The Market".

OOOOOKKAAAAAAAAYYYYY......................."advanced" caught my ear. That's why I bought this machine. Oh. Not to mention because of this.

I was like, wtf?! Full body motion sensor, scanning, doodah, whatsis?!

But unfortunately for us Malaysia-people, we love piracy. Xbox on the other hand, does not support piracy. In fact, only Ori games can be used on Xbox.

-o-

Ori. Games. Cost. RM120. PER. GAME.

Well, in order for me to NOT die of boredom, I bought a game called Hello,Reach?

Halo- Reach box art.png
Sorry huh. It's Halo:Reach. FPS (First person shooter) with awesome multiplayer. Huh? Whatzat? I HAVE TO BLOODY PAY FOR MULTIPLAYER?

That's the way it is. In order to play Multiplayer, players MUST HAVE XBOX LIVE GOLD ACCOUNT. Which costs about 88 mothafaken dollas. per year.

Okay.....some quick math here. The Xbox costs about 1500 ringgit. Games cost about 120 ringgit. Xbox live costs about 200+ ringgit. Hmm.......So I have to like bloody fork over almost 2000 HARD EARNED CASH FOR GAMING?

Well, looks like I have to get a job for this........life sucks....

My losing essay

Might as well Post it here since no one is going to publish it anyways. My first attempt at crime noir fiction.

The day that changed my life forever

Life is like a piece of fabric, and people are like the individual strands of string that makes up the fabric. The lives of all people are interconnected. Sometimes, a person can push an event to you, affecting you and your life so much that one’s world is turned upside down, whether by accident or deliberately. My life had one such event that left its mark even until now.

That day was like any other. I was doing one of my tens of thousands obligations towards my school life, namely studying. Sitting there, with my book on the table and pen in hand, I was every inch the stereotypical nerd.

Bad luck comes in many forms, and in my case, a school bully. I cursed under my breath. Not Him.

“Hey Nerd! Yeah you!” Michael Barnes, the school’s winning footballer shouted. I looked at him coolly but at the same time hesitantly. Any sudden moves, any wrong words at the wrong time, and I would be expecting myself under the weight of several sport jocks.

“Yes?” I said.

“How’s studying, Grave?”

“Not bad, Barnes.”

There was a sudden moment of silence. I had called the sports star, the rising star of the school team, tomorrow’s football player by his last name. This was a crime beyond compare. How could I, a lowly nerd, call the King of the School by that?

“You’re dead, Daxam Grave!” Barnes shouted.

At his command, an army of football jocks came and attacked me. I was punched, kicked, spat at, and at one point asphyxiated-all to suit the Leader’s needs.

“Stop. We’ll continue tomorrow.” He said abruptly. He gave the signal and the jocks stopped. Before he went, he gave me another kick just for good measure.

As I watched them walk away, I gave another curse. Jocks. Natural born bullies. I tried to stand up but failed due to the pain. I felt exhausted, and let out a moan.

Without warning, a boy suddenly jumped out from nowhere, appearing before me. With his brown hair and black clothes, he looked every inch the wild man. As I regarded the boy, he looked at me with his brown eyes.

“Daxam Grave? Come with me.”

Too exhausted to argue, I let him help me up and support me. He carried me to a van, where I was allowed to rest. Even though I didn’t know that boy, I felt safe. As I entered the van, the boy sat opposite me. He gave a signal for the driver to drive.

“Daxam Grave. Orphan. Adopted by Emilio and Agnes Grave. 17 years old. Single.” The man spoke suddenly. I nodded, taken aback.

“Who are you?” I asked.

“You will soon find out.” Came the curt reply.

I was carried to an unknown place, the journey full of twist and turns. It was impossible to see where I was going due to the tinted glass. The van stopped and I got down. The boy led me to a room with dim lightning. I had to focus to see things in the murky darkness.

“Ah, observing his surroundings. How excellent.”

Another man whom I have never seen before materialized from the shadows. He had a slender but athletic build. His age, from sight, put him at about 30 to 35. I frowned and repeated my previous question.

“Who are you?”

“My name is Mikhail Desserovich. Current leader of the Brotherhood of Delta.”

I fell silent for a while as I digested this information. Why was I brought to a secret brotherhood?

“You must be curious why you’re brought here. Let me explain.” Mikhail said. I fell silent to let him continue.

“There are two histories of the world. One is the history of which we all know. Another is the secret history, one which only a select few are chosen to know.”

“A major chapter in the secret history is the formation of the Brotherhood of Delta. This Brotherhood was created during the era of Ancient Greece by Aesop. Before he died, he created this Brotherhood to change the world for the better.” He continued.

“Over the centuries, many young men have been chosen to join the ranks of the Brotherhood. We change history. What may happen, has happened or is happening are caused by the Brotherhood’s will.”

“Essentially we are the nannies of the world, protecting it from harm. By bribery, assassination, talk or threats, we accomplish our goal.”

“Now, you were chosen for one reason-your profile. You have debating skills, yet unhesitant in using force. Most importantly, you have a bent will. Witnessing your parent’s death….certainly a powerful driving force. ”

As Mikhail said this, I nodded. True. My will was bent a few years back, making me unstable.

“You will be in Dusk society. From there, you will rise from the ranks and who knows; maybe one day you might even be sitting here welcoming new acolytes.”

I was allowed to return home by van, but from that day onwards I had a second life. Not even my adoptive parents could know that I am a member of Dusk. I had to hide, and change the world bit by bit and silently, working in the shadows.

A year has passed since my induction into the Brotherhood. The world has certainly been changed, though not always necessarily for the better. I have done many wrong things, all to protect the name of the Brotherhood. But it was not only the world that was changed. Even I have changed. From the hesitant boy to a stone faced member of The Brotherhood, I have evolved. And today, my life will take another turn.

Now I stand in front of my former mentor Mikhail, with my gun drawn and on his head. He chuckles, undeterred. Even with a Walter PPK pistol trained on him he still laughs. As my fingers near the trigger, I ask for only one thing.

Lord, give me the courage change the world with my finger.

Chemo

GG indeed. Good God. I had Chemistry Trials today. Chemistry=chemo....yadda,yadda, yadda. The DC connection there. Well back to chems. It was so incredibly hard. Take a look at this shit.

"Alkanes (also known as paraffins or saturated hydrocarbons) are chemical compounds that consist only of the elements carbon (C) andhydrogen (H) (i.e., hydrocarbons), wherein these atoms are linked together exclusively by single bonds (i.e., they are saturated compounds). Alkanes belong to a homologous series of organic compounds in which the members differ by a constant relative molecular mass of 14.

Each carbon atom must have 4 bonds (either C-H or C-C bonds), and each hydrogen atom must be joined to a carbon atom (H-C bonds). A series of linked carbon atoms is known as the carbon skeleton or carbon backbone. In general, the number of carbon atoms is often used to define the size of the alkane (e.g., C2-alkane).

An alkyl group, generally abbreviated with the symbol R, is a functional group or side-chain that, like an alkane, consists solely of single-bonded carbon and hydrogen atoms, for example a methyl or ethyl group.

The simplest possible alkane (the parent molecule) is methane, CH4. There is no limit to the number of carbon atoms that can be linked together, the only limitation being that the molecule is acyclic, is saturated, and is a hydrocarbon. Saturated oils and waxes are examples of larger alkanes where the number of carbons in the carbon backbone tends to be greater than 10.

Alkanes are not very reactive and have little biological activity. Alkanes can be viewed as a molecular tree upon which can be hung the interesting biologically active/reactive portions (functional groups) of the molecule."

And that's only Alkanes, the easiest one.

Well technically it was just a normal zam, but the presence of the chem teacher in class caused havoc. Yes. Havoc. A dude went to ask teacher about the questions. Yes, it happened. But thank GAWD teacher din answer his crappy Q.

I think I might fail chem. So what the Hell.
